Rules & Regulations

These rules are designed to ensure that you and our other campers have a pleasant stay at our park. The person who reserves the license to occupy the sites is responsible for all the rules and informing all of the other persons and their guests of these rules. Non-compliance may result in fines and or your immediate eviction from the park without a refund.

Check In - After 2.00 p.m. and before 9.00 p.m. Can’t make it by 9.00 p.m. or arriving before 2.00 p.m.  there is a late/early arrival fee. We must be notified  24 hours in advance. Please call the office to make arrangements as office hours are from 2.00 p.m. to 9.00 p.m. (early arrivals only if the site is available) Check out time is 12 noon. Extend your check out time if available (fee required) by 10.30 on day of departure by calling our reservation line to make sure it is available.


Visitors - ( if Covid Rules allow ) Campers may have day visitors with prior permission. All guests must register at the office prior to visiting your campsite. Day fees apply to all visitors. Car and driver $8.00, additional adults $5.00. Visiting hours are from 9.30 a.m. to 9.00 p.m. Overnight visitor’s regular camping rates. All visitors must park in designated areas not on empty neighbouring lots.


Speed/Vehicles - Speed limit is 10km/hr. The same rules as on public roads apply. This included ATV’s and bicycles. (see ATV rules below). Do not drink and drive. No parking on empty sites. Extra parking near the front of the park.


Wood - Outside firewood is not permitted in our campground, no exceptions. No wood, branches, or marshmallow sticks out of our bush regardless of size and condition, this includes dead falls. Due to excessive damage, Axes, Hatches and Saws are not permitted in the park. We sell hardwood, softwood and kindling.


Campfires - One fire ring per site, not to be moved, or altered in any way. Must be under supervision at all times. Fires must be extinguished when retiring and when leaving the park. Keep your fire pit clean of cans, tin foil, and leftover food. Due to Covid we will no longer be providing grills for the BBQ’s please bring your own. Fire bans put in place by the town or province must be adhered to. All fires must be out by 1 a.m.


Garbage - All garbage must be recycled. Barrels are for recycling only. All other garbage to be tied in clear bags for evening pick up and put beside barrels. Dog waste and baby diapers are garbage not recycling. If you miss pickup you must put it in your trunk overnight. If left out it will attract animals and crows. “Recycling is mandatory!” New town bylaw as of 2016 is to use clear garbage bags only.


Alcohol - Cans and plastics only. We are a glass free park. Do not drink and drive or you will be evicted immediately with no refund. Excessive drinking and partying, loud noise and profane language will not be tolerated at any time of day. Alcohol may be taken off site if not made obvious to others. In a cooler with cups or in coolies.  


Fireworks - Town bylaw, No fireworks or Chinese lanterns.


Firearms/Banned Items - No firearms, slingshots, air rifles, paintball, bow and arrows or soft air pellets guns. No exceptions. No glass alcohol bottles, axes, hatches, saws, bongo drums, horns, and (water balloons, due to excessive clean up). Acoustic guitars are welcome.


Quiet Time - Quiet time is between 11.00 p.m. and 9.00 a.m. Turn your music down so as not to disturb neighbouring sites, it's the bass that carries.  All music off by 12.00 a.m. (Midnight). No music before 9.00 a.m.


Picnic Tables - Sites 1 to 59 one table is provided per site and one fire pit. Do not remove tables from other sites. If 2 or more sites are camping together, put the table back on the original site before leaving. Other sites have mounted tables and camping chairs are needed. Please use common sense when bbqing as some bbq’s burn the top of tables. No bbq’s on the beach or retaining wall around the beach. 


Campsites - Must be kept clean at all times. See clean up and damage section below. 


Children - All children must be supervised at the beach, in the play area, and in washrooms. Use the beach at your own risk, no lifeguard on duty. Children must be on their site at dusk. Teens must be on site by 10.00 p.m.   


Security Deposit/Damage/Clean-Up/Noise - Some sites  will require a  security deposit.  This deposit is for Clean-Up. Example: littered site, cigarette butts, dog waste, kleenexes along bush line, garbage in fire pits, barrels not recycled. Damage examples: any wood or branches out of bush, any tree damage such as cutting, peeling bark, carvings, nails or rope left in trees from tarps. Picnic table damage such as carving, cutting or burning with pots or BBQ’s. Site Damage such as doggy holes, driving into trees or posts. Noise violations. Note that security deposits for group camping are for the entire group. Additional charges may be applied.


Fishing - We encourage catch and release. Fishing license required.


Trespassing - On neighbouring private road and land is against the law.


Pets - Well behaved pets are welcome. Please register your pet at time of booking. Owners are required to keep their pets reasonably quiet, clean up after them, keep them on a leash, and fill in any dog holes. Dog waste goes into a doggy bag and into the garbage not into the recycling. Dogs are not allowed in washroom building or play area. There is a dog beach beside the main beach located between the 2 sets of rocks. Dogs are also allowed in the boat and canoe area. Dogs are not allowed on the main beach, no exceptions, not even early mornings or when the beach is empty.  


ATV’s - All ATV’s must be insured and licensed. All drivers must be licensed and must follow all safety rules. No driving in the park except from your site directly out to the trails and back. Speed limit is 10km/hr. No horse play on the way out. No operating before 9.00 a.m. or after 9.00 p.m. No 3 wheelers, go karts or children’s ATV’s. Granite Ridge staff use golf carts and ATV’s in their daily work routine, and evening patrols.


Our Pleasure Craft Rentals - When you rent boats or other pleasure crafts from us you must keep them locked up when not in use. They are not to be pulled up on the main beach. They must be cleaned out after use. Bring your own life vest. Electric motor boat will only be rented to persons with a valid pleasure craft operator’s license


Your Pleasure Crafts & Boats - All motor boats must be registered before arrival. We allow only a small # of boats per day. A fee of $15 for a weekend, $20 for a long weekend and $35 for the week is charged. You must have a valid pleasure craft operator’s license, this includes electric motor boats. No charge for water crafts. Boat trailer parking will be assigned on arrival. Boat trailers left blocking the boat ramp, beach area or neighboring sites will be towed away, this included canoes and peddle boats etc. Do not pull up on main beach.


Granite Ridge Campground /Altseimer Ent. Ltd., Management or Employees will not be responsible or liable for any theft injury or death incurred by campers at this establishment. Management has the right to evict anyone for non-compliance with no refund.
